How to Use This Travel Blog (Start Here)

Not sure where to start with this blog? Don’t worry, I’ve got your back!

Throughout the ups and downs of traveling to 20 different countries I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t when trying to explore new places far from home.

I started this blog back in 2020 as a way to share my travel experiences with others. What to see, where to go and how to do it.

I always put in a considerable amount of time and effort when it comes to trip planning. Some people are planners and some people are not, but when it comes to travel I definitely fall into the planner category.

I hope you’ll use Work Remotely Live Remotely like a cheat sheet for traveling. In school it’s frowned upon to copy your classmate’s work, but here, that’s the whole point!

You can rest easy knowing I’ve already spent days, combing through research, watching videos and exploring these destinations myself to deliver only the best recommendations on what to do and see.

Not only have I created tons of destination specific guides, but I’ve also published some of my favorite money saving travel hacks, checklists and tips to make your travels go smoother.

If you read through the steps below you should have a good handle on how to keep up with my travels, get in touch, access my most important travel tips and how to find destination specific posts.

Start by reading about my story

First off, I would urge you to take a detour to the ‘About’ page of this blog. That page will give you some more background about my story and why I decided to start this travel blog in the first place!

Don’t forget to subscribe to my newsletter

My travel newsletter is the best way to stay in the know about my journeys, get inspired, and learn how to travel smarter!

I love the newsletter because it’s more fluid and less formal than blog content. You’ll get to see a side of my writing that doesn’t have to worry about SEO and making sure my blog posts rank well based on what Google likes to see.

The best part? The adventure comes straight to your inbox! I’ll keep you in the loop regarding my current trips, latest travel hacks and thoughts on life.

And don’t worry, I’ll never spam you or sell your information!

Read the blog for new adventure ideas

If you’re trying to brainstorm ideas for that next big adventure then I’d recommend browsing my travel blog. This area of the site contains posts and guides highlighting all of my adventures.

When you look at this website, most of the meat is housed in this area. While I have some core posts that broadly appeal to travelers, most of what I write is pretty specific to different destinations or activities.

My goal when writing blog posts is to give you all of the important information about a particular activity or destination, help you understand how long you should spend there, mistakes to avoid, tips, all while giving you some flair from my personal experience.

Along the way you’ll also discover my favorite photos, links to hotel recommendations and relatable content that you might find interesting based on the topic you’re researching.

Often overlooked, the search bar at the top of my site (and shown here) is a great way to discover content on my blog that’s a perfect match for your interests.

While you can search specific destinations like Sedona or Machu Picchu, the search bar is at its best when you broaden your horizons. Try searching things like hiking, National Parks or Europe and see what travel inspiration you uncover!

Subscribe to my YouTube channel for a more immersive experience

When I plan trips I tend to do an excessive amount of research. Not only does that involve reading a lot of blog posts about different parts of the world, scanning social media for ideas, but it also involves watching a lot of firsthand travel accounts via YouTube from others who have traveled to these places.

Not only do I take a lot of photos when I travel, but I also take a lot of video footage from the beautiful places I visit! I love being able to take viewers alongside me to the places I visit through my YouTube channel while dropping helpful nuggets of knowledge along the way.

Learn about my favorite money saving cheap flight hacks

One of the biggest expenses you’ll face when booking that next big adventure abroad is likely to be airfare.

Luckily, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite tips, tricks and hacks to pay the absolute minimum for flights.

This is one of my most popular guides since it appeals to most travelers. Be sure to check it out if you haven’t already!

Check out my favorite tips for planning a trip abroad

Are you packing the proper electrical outlet converters? Will your target activities be in season? Have you looked into public transit options?

There are a lot of things to consider when planning international travel and it can all become overwhelming pretty quickly. In this guide I’ll cover my favorite trips for planning a trip abroad.

You’ll find tips, tricks and things to consider that I’ve learned throughout my travels to 20+ countries!

Go through my remote work checklist

For anyone planning to plug in and work remotely during their globe trotting adventures be sure to read this checklist first!

I put together this remote work checklist after spending a month on the road in Europe while keeping up with my corporate job back home. Along the way I ran into plenty of issues and ran into situations where I wish I had packed certain things.

If you’ve never traveled internationally while planning to keep up with work back home then this guide is a must read.

Discover my complete day hike checklist

While I enjoy a wide range of travel activities, hiking and being outdoors is something I’m especially passionate about.

You’ll find experiences and destinations on this travel blog that cater to a wide variety of travelers. But there’s definitely a tilt towards the great outdoors and hiking.

I’ve packed for so many hiking trips at this point that I decided to put together a complete day hike checklist to help you prepare as well.

You won’t always need every item off this list, but if you scan through it, you can feel confident that you won’t accidentally forget any essentials at home!

Follow along on social media

The best way to keep up with my travels in real time is on social media, specifically on Instagram. While I share all of my big adventures to this blog, there’s definitely a lag to publishing long form blog content relative to when I actually travel.

The amount of time I put into creating thoughtful guides that are complimented by the imagery I capture during my travels means I often publish content weeks (or even months) after returning from a trip.

If you’re curious to see what up I’m to in real time, follow along on Instagram! It’s also a great platform to ask me a question either in the comments or via direct message. I love hearing from my readers!

You can check out my contact page for more ways to get in touch or use the social bar to subscribe to my content on other platforms.

Check out my Amazon Storefront for travel gear I trust

Every time I pack for a trip I feel like I get a little bit better. I forget fewer things, I plan better and I anticipate things that could go awry much more easily.

Probably because I’ve been through the gauntlet of travel issues over the years!

Whether it’s being places where you can’t find a working outlet for power, being dehydrated from catching too many flights (or cocktails), or needing a converter that can adapt to plugs in numerous countries on the same trip, I’ve found solutions for all of these problems.

My Amazon Storefront is the best place to check out travel gadgets and gear that I recommend and trust to make my travel adventures go smoothly.

What are you waiting for?

I hope this post helps you better understand some of the key components to Work Remotely Live Remotely.

Now that you’ve gotten a lay of the land it’s time to head over to the travel blog and start finding inspiration for that next big adventure!
